With the fall semester picking up and finals right around the corner, which is hard to believe, we might all need some de-stressing to get us through! Something that can help you get your mind off the stressful parts of school and is a great way to be sustainable is thrifting! Thrifting is my go-to activity when I need a fun activity, and I want to give you all some tips to find the best fall finds for the season.
First, I want to start with where you can go thrifting near Slippery Rock University. Below I listed a few thrift stores near us.

Now, let’s get into the fun stuff. Thrift stores are great places to find unique pieces no one else has. Before a thrift trip, I always look on my Pinterest to find inspiration for unique, trendy pieces that I am hoping to find. Recently, my favorite things to find are purses. The Y2K and vintage-style purses have been super on trend lately. Big buckles, suede, and lots of studs are easy to find thrifting and often my favorite finds. I included pictures of my recent finds in the purse section.
After the purses, I head straight to the jacket sections because there are often hidden gems here. I have been into long trench coats and leather jackets, the “New York City It Girl” vibe. Both are super popular in thrift stores and are usually easy to find.
My other fall favorite to look for are chunky knit sweaters. A couple of thrift trips ago I found the perfect everyday oversized knitted sweater and have been obsessed with it ever since.
