Have a Healthy Sleep Schedule
College work can stack up fast. Late-night study sessions and writing essays in the ten minutes before you go to bed is not the way to ensure a successful school/sleep plan. Make the time to sleep. Make sure you get at least seven to eight hours of sleep every night, this way you'll be more awake and alert in all of your classes throughout the day. If you want to nap, set aside thirty minutes, because napping longer than that will throw you and your sleep schedule off. Making time for sleep will not only keep you healthy and alert, but it will also make studying seem more effective during normal daylight hours.
Know Who You Are and Why You Are There
College is a step in life that allows you your first chance at being an adult. Know your values and make your own choices. Other students and authority figures may disagree with you at times, and that's okay. Just know that you are never alone. There are always others that think and act like you. The ones who don't just have different morals and priorities in life. Not everyone is walking the same road!
Help Others
Encourage others to be themselves too! For many people, giving others advice gives you more confidence to follow it yourself. Making sure people know how important and amazing they are just being themselves can change someone's whole outlook. By doing this, you're more likely to believe these things too!
Know Your Limits
Sure, college is stressful sometimes, but it's how you manage your time that determines just how stressful it will be. Make time for breaks, go out with friends, and just catch up with yourself. This will lead to less stress and more energy for you to tackle the next day. Forget how to procrastinate and you'll have more time to enjoy with yourself and others!
Stay Organized
Do yourself a favor and buy a planner before classes even start! Being organized will not only make sure you are keeping up with classwork, but it will help you manage time for clubs, work, social events, and anything else you need help remembering. We found some cheap planners at Target!
