Crisp cool air, apple cider, and pumpkin pie - what’s not to love about fall? Witch oversized sweaters, comfy scarfs, and cozy leggings, autumn is the coziest season! Halloween is on a Wednesday this year and there's plenty of time to fit in all kinds of fall festivities, haunted houses, and pumpkin patch pictures. So grab your buds and check out these events to make sure you have a spooktacular October!
The Beacon Haunted House and Corn Maze. The Haunt “Jack's Back” is located in Renfrew, PA, about a half hour from Slippery Rock. This haunt is open every weekend in October. Ticket price includes the 15 acre Haunted Corn Maze, Tractor Ride, and the Haunted House. The first tractor starts around 7:00p - 7:30p. Don’t “chicken out,” but if you do there’s a bonfire to keep you warm, and a concession stand with goodies to fill you up. Here’s a $1.00 off coupon to add more incentive: "Jacks Back" coupon ●
Cheeseman Fright Farm located in Portersville PA. $20 per person includes haunted hayrides, mazes, and multiple walkthrough attractions. It begins at dark and will be open to 10:00 p.m. If you’re not into the scary stuff , check out the Pumpkin Festival, take a hay ride to the pumpkin patch and pick out this years holiday decorations.
Zombies of the Corn is a half hour drive from Slippery Rock. For $35 per person your objective is to stop the zombies! 24 people will be placed on a Zombie Fighting Vehicle. The Zombie Fighting Vehicle will transport you through the Zombie infested zone. Think of it like a haunted hayride, but you can fight off the zombies with weapons! Each vehicle trailer is equipped with Zombie Killing Weapons, one for each person. These weapons are similar to paintball guns, and they shoot special flesh eating glow in the dark acid ammo balls used to kill zombies! Dates very, so check out the website to secure your spot.
Haunted Trail at ARMCO Park is a 5 minute drive from the Rock! The attraction features a 1 mile walking trail through the woods with ghosts, zombies, and more! Walk the Haunted Trail, IF YOU DARE! This event is $5, Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 7:30pm to 11:00pm both nights.
Trick-or-Treat Glow Golf. If you’re scared of the dark, dress up and trick-or-treat while enjoying 18 holes of mini-golf! $8 per person, located in Cranberry PA.
On October 20th The Annual Craft Show and Amish Donut sale at The Barn at Soergel Hollow. Come savor fall! This is a free event, with indoor and outdoor activities and shopping. Famous Amish donuts on site too!
Zelienople/ Harmony Fall Festival takes place on Main Street in Zelienople PA. There’s so much to do, including a Chili Cook Off, kids activities, sidewalk sales, and historical tours of the Zelienople Museum’s Passavant House and Buhl House. Amish donuts will be for sale on Saturday. Main Street and Mercer Street of Harmony will also feature historical tours, art exhibits, antiques, German pastries, live music, a Flea-tique, costume contests, and a Weiner Dog Fun Pet Fair.
